Metaverse based AI Training Platform for Smart Construction Safety Management
inistry of Science and ICT (MSIT), 2022 - 2025
This study aims to develop a metaverse platform that can be utilized as a forum for information and knowledge sharing and education on construction safety. To achieve this, we 1) utilize Reality Capture technology to create a 3D virtual space that reflects the actual appearance of various construction sites. 2) develop various functions that allow users to directly create safety information within the created 3D virtual space, enabling them to share necessary information with other users. 3) create a platform where various safety-related construction stakeholders can gather. 4) Based on this platform, we propose a reward and transaction system that enables various safety-related economic activities.
[연구목표]
Safety Education & Knowledge Sharing: To develop a metaverse platform that serves as a space for sharing construction safety information, knowledge, and education.
Reality-to-Virtual Mapping: To create 3-dimensional virtual spaces that reflect actual construction sites using Reality Capture technologies.
Incentive Systems: To propose a blockchain-based reward and transaction system to encourage voluntary participation and economic activity within the platform.
[연구내용]
Content Creation & Structuring: Developed an ontology-based structure for safety education and integrated AI NPCs to help users generate and share risk information and know-how.
Virtual Environment Implementation: Established a workflow for high-fidelity 3D modeling, identifying Gaussian Splatting as the most efficient technique for reconstructing complex construction environments.
Token Economy Design: Implemented a blockchain-based system using Smart Contracts to provide incentives through NFTs (for certifications) and FTs (tokens for rewards).
Platform Prototype: Integrated the virtual environments into a map-based web platform with social feeds, allowing various stakeholders (workers, managers, educators) to communicate and interact.
